Manual protect, a new face-recognition engine, and battery savings.

  • NewManual protect: blur the screen anytime from the menu bar or the iPhone shield icon — no face enrollment required. Unlock with Touch ID / password or another tap.
  • ImprovedNew face-recognition engine (SFace, purpose-built for faces). Much more robust to lighting and angle changes — far fewer false blurs. Re-enrollment required after updating.
  • New"Don't protect on battery" option to save power on the go.
  • NewmicroAI Bundle license keys are now accepted.
  • FixedAfter a local connection dropped, reconnecting over the internet could fail for several minutes.

  • NewAway Privacy: automatically blurs your Mac's screen while your enrolled face is not on camera. Unblurs when you return, or unlock with Touch ID / password via "Click to Unlock."

  • NewChoose which camera Away Privacy uses (built-in or external); it follows plug/unplug automatically.
  • NewWorks with the standalone microShield app: the face profile is shared, and monitoring yields automatically while microShield is running.
